PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN MENULIS ESSAY PADA MAHASISWA PRODI BAHASA INGGRIS FKIP UR DALAM MATA KULIAH WRITING III DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN PROCESS APPROACH

Abstract


This classroom action research seeks to enhance the learning process by applying the writing process approach in teaching writing III.The students who become research subjects were students of second semester school year 2010 to 2011. Before applying the process approach,first performed a pre - test. The result of pre - test showed that students’writing ability is still low, if the value obtained is converted to the academic regulations of Riau University. There were 13.6% of students who obtaine daverage grades, 68.2% who earn less grades, and 18.2% of students whofailed. While there were no students who obtained excellent and good grades.Once the application process approachimplemented in two cycles, the resultsobtained are very meaningful learning. The students percentage who obtainedexcellent is 9%, and 72.84% in goodgrades. From the data of the study, itcan be concludedthat the process approach is feasible to apply in writing III subject.
